People are different and so are our bathroom habits. There are some habits that we are not aware of while some are already part of our daily routines. Smiles! I have mine and would share in this post.
Bathroom habits could be the normal things we do, especially ladies. We get engrossed in the activities going on in the bathroom, forgetting the sole purpose of this beautiful convenience.
One of my habits in the bathroom is to spend longer time there, meditating and writing. Yeah! I get inspiration in the bathroom, mostly when I am on the toilet seat. In fact, I go with my book and pen jotting some salient ideas.
Another bathroom habit I have is fiddling with my phone. Medically, it is wrong because of the bacteria and hygiene level.
These habits gradually become a part of our daily lives and responses to issues. Such as the ones we practice during our shower time. They are all bathroom habits.
They are not necessarily harmful, but may in one way or the other impact your personal health and hygiene from washing of your face incorrectly to the slightest habit of sitting on the toilet for too long. Smiles?! Yes. I told you that I am also a culprit in this case.

So, let us check out other bathroom habits you never knew you have and possible mistakes you have made too.
1️⃣ You flush the toilet while the lid is up.
Do you know that faecal matter and urine can fly as far as six feet away from the toilet bowl during each flush. So before you flush down the waste product, just slightly close the lid to keep those gross particles in your toilet and out of the air.
2️⃣ You throw wet wipes in the toilet.
Many “flushable” wipes aren’t as toilet-friendly as they claim to be. These “flushable” wipes have been well known for clogging sewer systems. Other toiletries that should never be flushed down the toilet include: sanitary napkins, tampons and so on.
3️⃣ You pile your hair on top of your head as you shampoo.
The best way to shampoo is to lather your hair in its natural position, whether that’s straight down your back for long hair or flat on your head for close-cropped hair, to give you softer, smoother locks.
4️⃣ You clean your ears with cotton swab.
Earwax may be gross, but it’s your eardrum’s best natural defense against dust and dirt. Chewing and talking help your jaw move the wax from your inner ear outward. But the moment you push a cotton swab in your ear canal, you undo all of your body’s hard work!

Cotton swabs push the wax back into your ear where it can get stuck. Limit your swabbing to just the external crevices of your ear and leave your ear canals alone.
5️⃣ You sit on the toilet too long.
This is very like me. I like to sit on the toilet for longer minutes because I draw inspiration from there. Some people are in my shoes. They like to use their toilet time to catch up on a good book or scroll through their phone.
But there is a common health risk associated with sitting on the ceramic throne for too long: hemorrhoids. The sitted position places a lot of pressure on the veins in your lower rectum which can swell or bulge and cause hemorrhoids.
